Big Bowls Weekend over the weekend of 28th and 29th May 2022.
For clubs wishing to participate in the Big Bowls Weekend you need to register on the Bowls England web site here. Before you do this you will need to know your BCGBA membership number and also which day and times you will be running the event.
This will then give you access to some material to help with the planning and some tips for organising the date itself.

The John Barber Cup for Over 60s will be played at The Whitchurch and District Club on Monday 8th August.
The start time is 11am so mplease make you arrive in plenty of time.

Market Drayton Bowling League are entering 1 team in the Interleague competition which is on Saturday 21st May. If you are interested in being involved or representing the MDBL please let Eddie Broad know 07591 556731

The draw for the Jim Swire cup has been posted following the draw at the last Executive Meeting. As discussed at the meeting please remember the following points:
- This year we are back to using neutral greens so please note where you are playing.
- Please also note if your club is a neutral green host and make sure someone is assigned to be in attendance.
- New for this year is the hosting club green fees, this is to be 50p per player and should be given to the host club on the night of the match

The League Executive Meeting will take place via Zoom on the 6th April at 19:30. Please ensure each club is represented at the meeting.

Despite recent rumour and speculation please be advised that our situation remains unchanged. All home matches will continue to be played on our green behind the Red Lion pub in Market Drayton as normal.

There is another Big Bowls Weekend organised this year, it is over the weekend of the 28th and 29th May.
If you are struggling to recruit new members and players, this event is intended to help you do just that.
There should be a qualified coach present, if you do not have one at your club or know a coach who can help out contact the Will Hare on 07970 641711 and he will find you a coach.

The minutes of the Market Drayton Bowling League AGM held on the 12th January 2022 are now available to view in MDBL Meetings in the left hand menu.

The Market Drayton League season will not start until after Easter. The first Friday matches will be 22nd April & Monday matches 25th April 2022. Fixtures will be published once all clubs have let the Secretary know how many teams they wish to enter. The closing date for this information to be received is the end of March or before, if possible.
All Secretaries please look out for the Contact Details Form and GDPR Form which will be sent out at the beginning of February. Please complete and return these by the end of March also.
