Any player wishing to continue practicing on the green during the season, can get a winter membership for only £30 which lasts from September to the end of March 2025.
Rules
The Tommy Jamieson At Mossley Hill Winter League
1 League officials will be decided by M H A C executive committee
2 The league shall be called The Tommy Jamieson Winter League
3 Subscription will be decided by the league committee
4 All league games will be governed by B C G B A rules
5 All matches will be played by teams of 8 players playing to 21 points
6 In the event of a team not being able to field 8 players they will pay £2 for each missing player
7 Each club will complete player's registration. Only players registered will be permitted to play.
Players can be registered up to the 31st December, or up to the last league game, subject to committee approval.
8 In games opponents will be chosen by the turn of scorecards
9 Matches to commence at the time and date as per fixture list. There should be four games in progress at any time. Jacks will be for the away team on the fixture list.the exception to this will be cup games, where the captains will decide, by agreement, or toss of coin. Standard jacks will be used
10 The team captains will decide if a game is playable, due to weather conditions. If a game is postponed, then the game must be rearranged within 7 days and the league secretary informed. Where matches cannot be completed, the results of games finished shall stand, all other games to be played, as per rearranged game provision
11 After 2 games for one club no transfer will be allowed, except by committee approval
12 NO SMOKING ON THE GREEN AT ANY TIME
13 The league will be decided on points, the team with the most points be declared winners, where teams are level on points then the aggregate scores shall be taken into account. For season 2024/25 Teams will be handicapped at +16 points for second place then 8 points per team per league position downward. New teams will have an average of the lowest and highest team handicaps.
14 Pairs scratch competition, in the event of a tie, the match will be decided on games won. If games won are equal, then the match will be decided by the final pair playing an extra end
15 In the pairs competition players can play with players from other teams
16 Practise will be allowed for 30 minutes prior to the start of a match
17 Individual and pairs competition will be £ 4 and £3 per person
18 The team knock out handicap will be based on the following:- +16 the team that finishes 2 nd. The next league position will be 32 and there after increases by 8 pts.
19 All disputes to be addressed to the management committee and their decision will be final
20 Firing, it is up to the person firing to ensure that they advise their opponent, that they are to fire, so as the opponent can warn people, on and off the green, of possible danger
