CONGRATULATIONS TO THE HOT SHOTS

After a real close fought battle amongst the top three teams, The Hotties came out victorious. Well done to Captain Gary and his team. Back to back champions.

The Mav's and The Regiment were both extremely strong and the leaderboard changed hands a number of times making for an exciting final run in to our pre Christmas league.

Also, fourth place was up for grabs right up until the final day with Majestics and Infinity battling it out together. Infinity got the win on the day, and both teams finished on 15 wins overall. However, due to Infinity having 2 draws from earlier matches, they pipped Majestics into fourth position.

Another battle on the final day between Alley Cats and All Tix resulted in the Alley's taking that 6th place. Both teams had 11 wins, however, Alley's had a draw from another match, which helped them pip All Tix into that 6th position putting them in the top half of the table results.

Well done to all teams that took part in this years league.

We start afresh again when we return in January 2026, so there is everything to play for.

Which team is going to give The Hotties a run for their money in the second half of the league?

Let's wait and see...

WELCOME TO THE PENINSULA PAIRS LEAGUE 2025/26

 "For the love of bowls"

We begin the second half of our season on Friday 2nd January 2026 at 12 noon.

We are looking forward to another competitive season filled with friendly banter along the way.

We will play every Tuesday and Friday afternoon, starting at 12 noon in Birkenhead Park, Wirral across greens 3 and 4.

A team can register as many players as they wish, however the team on the day will consist of two pairs (4 players)

Each team will play two fixtures per week.

There will be a one off £5 registration fee for all members plus a £3 fee per player for any game played throughout the season.

Tea, coffee, hot chocolate, biscuits and soups will be available each session.

All teams will receive prize money in accordance to what position they finish in the league, and will be paid out at the end of December and again at the end of March.

Team match wins will determine league positions, followed by any draws before looking at the points.

If both pairs win their games, they register a win.

If a team's first pair wins and the second pair loses, the team can still win the overall game, as long as their losing pair scores more than their opponents losing score.

We are fully affiliated under the Merseyside Crown Green Bowling Association and are covered by the BCGBA's recommended insurers.

We have twelve teams registered for this league.

We look forward to meeting up with some regular faces this Winter as well as some new faces too.
