Iris Walker Mixed Doubles
Congratulations to Theresa and Jordan Talbot on winning the Iris Walker Mixed Doubles today in a final played against Helen Punchard and Ben Handley.
The league's thanks go to Fieldhouse BC and it's secretary Steve and members for hosting a wonderful day.
We had 39 pairs entered which is the biggest field we have had in many years, but it kept moving and we finished around 7pm.
Thanks to everyone who came, played, marked a card, measured, washed up or simply watched.
This is the first playing of the competition since Iris died at the age of 99 earlier this year. The league is grateful to her for the donation of the trophies and her support even after she had stopped playing.

Iris Walker
We have been informed that Iris died last week. Iris was one of the original members of the league playing for GEC (subsequently known as Asltom and now Fieldhouse). Although she hasn't played in the league for many years her's is a name everyone will know as she donated the trophy that we play for in our mixed doubles competition at Fieldhouse the first Sunday of August each year. We pass on our condolences to her family and friends.
